17TH IEAS AND INTERNATIONAL AWARDS, GHANA

Co-hosted by the Ghana Election Commission and the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, the 17th IEAS took place from 28-30 January in Accra. Elections Ontario received several international election awards while the Chair of Delian’s Board of Directors, John Hollins, received an ICPS Lifetime Election Achievement Award.

Always a pleasure, Delian again facilitated its annual technology donation to both the University of West Indies (Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and Jamaica), and University of Technology of Jamaica, for their respective Guild of Student elections.

The 9th Annual EMB conference in Tbilisi took place from 26-27 March 2019. The main topic of the event this year was “Electoral Integrity: Cyber Security and the reliability of information in the digital age.”
BI-ELECTIONS IN TBILISI, GEORGIA

In partnership with the Central Election Commission of Georgia, Delian provided donated Canadian voting technology to eight polling locations during the 19 March 2019 bi-elections in Georgia. The polling locations were all within one hour of the capital Tbilisi, with the technical research findings from the election being use to further Georgia’s research into accessible voting technology, particularly for disabled voters.

In partnership with the Maldives Election Commission and the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, the 18th IEAS focused on issues surrounding electoral integrity and influence. A highlight of the event was Delian and the ICPS entering into an MOU surrounding the delivery of election based training.
G7 RAPID RESPONSE MECHANISM FOR SAFE GUARDING DEMOCRACY, OTTAWA, CANADA

Delian was pleased to provide speakers and advice to the G7 RRM Secretariat’s inaugural symposium on “Foreign Threats to Democracy in the Digital Age: Understanding Challenges, Formulating Responses”. Housed within Global Affairs Canada’s headquarters in Ottawa, the G7 RRM was established during the 44th Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations’ summit in June 2018.
ELECTORAL TRIBUNAL IN MEXICO

From 6-8 November 2019, some +40 nations and international organizations took part in the 3rd annual Global Network for Electoral Justice Conference in Los Cabos, Mexico. Topics included campaign financing, the role of social media companies during election campaigns, and electoral integrity. Hosted by the Electoral Tribunal of Mexico, Delian was represented by the Chair of its Advisory Board, Jean-Pierre Kingsley.
MISSION TO GUYANA

The Delian Project is very pleased to be partnering with Global Affairs Canada in support of the Guyana Election Commission (GEC). Over the next several months, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, will regularly deploy to Georgetown in an advisory capacity to assist the GEC Chair. Topics being reviewed include voter registration, legal frameworks, and election logistics.
